I own a 2012 Corolla, my friend owns a 2012 Elantra. In my opinion Toyota rested on their reputation too long. It was hard to admit but I think the Elantra was the better car then and maybe now.


A new generation came out in 2014 so they're a lot different now. This year the Corolla received a mid-gen facelift.

I actually looked at the 2014 and to me it seemed more like a face lift than a new generation. The interior was nicer but the fit and finish was behind the Korean automakers in my opinion. I think Corollas are good cars I just think the competition has caught up and in some cases past them.
