I know all cars have some problems but is there anything glaring wrong with these cars? Pentastar and A8 appear to be solid, but more to a car than drive train.

I guess other members would rather make V6 jokes and not address your question. I’ve known two people with the the pentastar-A8 power train and haven’t had any issues with them.

so... still has the beefy macho look of the v8 car, still has 300 hp, and gets 30mpg hwy..... not seeing a problem here...

and don't forget , the "You coulda had a V8" crowd, even if you get the 5.7, it instantly becomes " oh, you shoulda got the 6.4, anything less than a scat pack is pointless" BLAH,BLAH,BLAH....

This car is for my son, he was asking about it yesterday, likes the looks of it and doesn't care if something else is faster, just looking for a nice car to drive.

If you want a hideous engine cover get a V8 like I did in my 2009 RT.........
I don't believe in the hemi tick as I never heard it......lol I dumped it at 3000 miles
I like the mpg of the 6 banger :)

It is a float boat though. It's like wading a yacht through a bathtub.........
Very wide and a real 70's ride

2009 RT
The black car was a Lincoln LS V8- 2006

I would love a V6 Challenger AWD, however the insurance rates are ridiculously high despite the V6. The safety ratings on the Challenger are not very good, which might be why the insurance rates are high.

Nah, I mean yes, the 6.4 is excellent, but the 5.7 isn't boring. The v6 performs similarly to many compact SUVs, though. I'd pass on it, and urge looking to the 6.4, but at least the 5.7.

As to solidness, the penta and 8 speed are solid units. Chrysler vehicles as a whole, though, just dont seem to use raw materials of as high a quality as many others. It will rot around an excellent drivetrain.

I'd prefer the V6. Better mpg, great looks (SXT or GT). Still 305 hp. It's more than enough for me.

The ride in the v-6 is better, the gas mileage is better, the ins rates are better, the looks are the same, and dependability is better. If you're more interested in impressing people you don't know on your phone then get the V-8. Disclaimer: I have two Mustang GTs.

Well i have had both in a mustang, And i don't care what you say or think there is nothing like the V8 in any of those cars Dodge ,Ford or Chev !

wemay thanks that video was helpful. If it was for me, V8 just for the sound, but he's not me. There are plenty of 10 year old Challengers around here without rot and he probably won't keep it forever so that's probably not an issue. Thanks for the replies.

Also keep in mind that Chryslers are typically less safe than their competitors. Something to keep in mind.
