2015 Honda MT6 Trans fill.

Well,,,,it happened again. Was living in northern Canada when I purchased an Accord MT- Honda's record with CVT up there wasn't good- anyway the trans felt notchy after about 2k km's, replaced with a few different oils and found Pentosin MTF2 really fit the bill well. Now it seems to be gone. Keeping in mind the border is not oil friendly, looking for a recommendation of a replacement for the replacement I do have some Redline on the shelf but would prefer something very close to the current fill Amason.ca has this MTF FUCHS TITAN SINTOFLUID 75W-80 83220403247
at $106 including shipping which is reasonable and would give to services. Bumper to Bumper carries Pentosin- would the FFL (which iteration) be close enough.

Honda manual transmissions can use motor oil

Other fluids heard were good in MT Hondas are Pennzoil Synchromesh and GM synchromesh

I tried the GM synchromesh- didn't work out.

If only the Pentosin will do, it's worth ordering from the US and eating the cost. Are you near a Napa? They might be able to get it for you.

Still crazy that a brand new car would already feel notchy!

Use the Redline you have while you wait for the Pentosin to become available. There's also Valvoline Symchromesh MTF

I think it was a poor performing oil due to low temps.....-35C for weeks and -25C normal winter temps, since moving I'm dealing with -25C max winter temps. I'm just looking for the closest equivalent to the MTF2. I also read GM fluid was good for this app- was disappointed for the effort and expense involved. There is a Pentosin dealer near but they product I want is discontinued- I did not ask what the substitute was.

Does either Redline or Amsoil make a Honda equivalent MTF? And can you get it there in Alberta? What's Honda's oem factory fill I wonder? I'm guessing some Honda branded MTF? Maybe Honda oem branded dealership MTF would be the best? Reason I say this,I tried Idemitsu ATF in my Accord and it was horrible. Rough shifts and made a loud metallic "click" sound when switching from P to R to D,etc. I did the 3 quart spill and fill with Honda oem dealership MTF a few days later and it's smooth as silk once again. Honda transmissions seem to be really finicky.

I think a more appropriate statement would be 'Honda manual transmission demands a quality lubricant'. I not afraid to try different lubes- oem lubricants to me are a benchmark to meet and exceed. In my case the MTF2 has been excellent. I do have some Redline MTL as a last resort.
