'course it is an Indian made car.

Yeah, something tells me the Indian made Polo may not be up to US snuff. Even the ones made and sold in Brazil seem to be significantly more expensive....

I thought the Brazillian Polo was the Gol.

The Gol is something like $11,000 US in Mexico...

I don't know how much more it will take to make it US regulation worthy. But Mitsubishi is selling Mirages. If they can keep that price, it will sell here.

They've sold the Gol here before badged as the Fox.

It was okay. My ex had a "Wolfsburg" Fox (Didn't know Wolfsburg was in Brazil

) It lacked the ride and handling of other Volkswagens of that time and the interior was decent but pretty far from Wolfsburg quality. It was an okay car.

The price is nice, but how reliable is the VW Polo?

I have read China has some VW models not sold elsewhere. For example, I think the VW Quantum is still sold there, but it has a different name.

I think the Polo isn't sold in the USA because of smog or safety laws, but I could be wrong. VW might be trying to make their name sound upscale in the USA, so they wouldn't want to sell such a low priced car in the USA.

They've got Audi, Porsche, Bentley, and Lamborghini for that purpose.
