Thank you! Should be hitting 250k miles soon. That's the next big milestone. In about 4 or 5 years I should be at or near 500k at this rate.Good showing and still robust for a 10K mile OCI.
I believe this was an older batch? But I can't say for sure, I don't have the bottles. Can’t ask for better results than that, that should have of miles to go!
On a separate note, was this an older batch/API rating of Supreme 9000 that you ran? The add pack looks quite a bit different than the SN+ and SP formulations. Thanks for posting your UOA!
I usually just stick with 10k oci. No particular reason I guess. But I'm probably about to swap over to High performance lubricants products and I might try 20k with them.If you’re saying you drive 40-50k a year why not run a 20k miles filter, run 10k, remove 2qts (topsider) and add 2 qts fresh and double your OCI? I bet the UOA would fine.
It was Schaeffers 0w20 9000What was the oil you used on your first uoa?
I used 0w20 at first, but switched to 5w30 the past 2 oil changes. It runs smoother with less valvetrain noise, I live in the south so it doesnt get cold enough to warrant 0w20. The only reason toyota recommends 0w20 is for CAFE regulations.Have you always used 5w30 in your 5.7?
For sure! Might even move up in weight in the futureAre you going to stick with the W30 over the W20?
Do you happen to own a tundra as well? The 5.7 is truly amazing with gobs of low end torque. I would throw a supercharger on it if didn't require premium.Great result. love that 5.7.
Thanks for sharing!
I'm pushing for the million mile mark! It still drives like it just rolled off the lot.Low wear metal rates; low contamination; inputs in very good shape.
Probably only another 250k or so miles left in that engine ...
