Took my Merc in for first service with my local Merc Specialist and he put in Total MB Approved 229.5.
I'm assuming Total Quartz 9000 0W30? I've never heard of Total. Is it good stuff? I'm assuming its a Euro exotic oil or something?

... Thanks in advance

5w40 is 229.3. If it was 229.5 approved for sure it was 0w30.

Off topic: I really hate the search engine because it is useless. I was looking for a VOA for the Elf Full-Tech 0w30 because I may remember I saw it analised but did not find anywhere. It could not find even the word 'elf' also my 5w40 sample from few month ago. If someone would know where it is or even it does exist...In that case there is none I'm ready to ship a sample as I get the drum.

Try google. You can narrow the search to just this site by putting "site:bobistheoilguy.com" after your search terms.

Like this: mahle_collector and elf site:bobistheoilguy.com

Quartz 9000 Energy 5w-40 is on the official MB 229.5 approval list:

You are right. I was checking the non-Energy version.

Sorry my post was misleading. I was reffering to the 0w30. Of course I would not like to resample the 5w40 at least for a while.

If someone would know where it -the 0w30 sample- is or even it does exist...In that case there is none I'm ready to ship a sample as I get the drum.
