Toyota. However a loaded up Highlander is not as nice as a CPO Base MDX, Lexus or Audi.

For $35k, you can get a new Acura RDX that is much nicer and provides better fuel economy than either choice.

thx guys
By the way, what is the "good" cut off time for the MDX auto trans issue? Thanks

I have not heard of any issues with the 2007+ Acura MDX which I happen to own . I know the 2002-2004 were dreadful just like its Honda V6 cousins.

rjundi,
Are you biased against domestics? You seem to be. Honda had transmission issues in that time frame. Ask my step mom. That van is on trans 3 or 4 now..I lost count. Honda has turned out some junk the last few years. My friend's 12' Civic is an example. The 96/98 5spd civics were good cars 200k miles and no major issues. Newer Honda's were are fighting issues right out of the gate. He get the same speech from the Honda dealer every time we take either van or civic in "Honda makes strong reliable vehicles, what are you doing to them to cause these failures" It is funny that No Fords we've owned have needed transmissions or complete AC systems like the newer Hondas have and we have kept our Fords MUCH MUCH longer than the newer Hondas.
Honda's quality died around 2001. After that they were just living off the name.

You keep telling yourself that.

You post this [censored] in every single thread, haven't you realized nobody gives a [censored] about your posts.

No my Acura MDX was designed and penned in the USA and produced in Canada I would actually consider "domestic". I believe with massive domestic content beyond that. However the reason I bought it had nothing to do with Honda nameplate. It was actually a really nice SUV purchased on the cheap privately that happened to hold 7 passengers(in a pinch) that also handles relatively well. I only want another 50k (at 105k) and will buy something else.

I personally could care less about your mommy issues.

Demand has never equated perfectly with value.

The resale simply tells you that others want it. That's great at resale or trade in time. But what about those miles and miles that YOU must be behind the wheel. Some of us are not satisfied with strictly a transportation appliance.

I guess that's why they make more than one kind of car...

I have a 2013 explorer. If I were to do it again I'd get a Highlander. The Explorer's cool looks and nice interior got the best of me but the Highlander definitely drives better. I rented one for a week and while it was a tad boring to look at it drives so nice.

This being my first Ford and American vehicle I can tell you the quality is not up to par with Toyota. Lots of little things that add up, if you want more detail just let me know. I'm just happy its a lease and I can give it back in a few years. That was the only reason I leased, first Ford.

THANK YOU Huie83 for your absolute unbiased opinion(hats off clapping)!

Bitog needs more unbiased replies from folks like you.

Believe me I felt the same exact way comparing a brand new 1995 Chevy Blazer LT that I got for $27000 and when I compare it with my wifes 1997 Toyota 4Runner she bought used for $6,000 and we currently still own and have more than 300,000 miles, I feel I got used and used badly. The 1995 Blazer is not on par with the wife's 1997 4Runner limited but it's a bygone now since it was traded for a brand new 2002 Sequoia Limited.
