Is there an available dipstick that would fit the existing tube?

None that I'm aware of that can be left in permanently. The end of tube has internal threads of sorts, given the OEM cap threads in place. There is a dipstick that can be ordered, but it doesn't give you a definitive "full" or "add" line. That would be too easy. They have some sort of graduation lines on it that coincide with a temperature conversion chart.
I've actually used the (wiped clean) engine oil dipstick for a simple ATF measurement with the van off and cold. Not sure if that means much. There is a positive stop tab in the trans pan, so you can only shove it in so far.
