2013 Ford Fiesta 185,000 Miles Under valve cover.

The only way those cars hit 185k is if they are mostly highway. My daughter's had a bunch of very expensive work done to it at about 60k under the class action lawsuit recall. Over 2.5K dollars of work. Hers is a suburban driven short tripper. I'm encouraging her to move on from it as soon as possible. This car with a manual would be sweet.

I did a lot of research on this at the time of the work, and the transmission was only expected to have 150k of utility according to internal Ford documents. Maybe the worst transmission Ford ever put in a modern vehicle. All kinds of damaging evidence came out in the lawsuit. Ford came out of it looking very, very bad.

My 2019 was a manual. It was an entirely adequate little car except for the lack of cruise control.

The resolved it by 2016. Fiestas 2016+ have great DCT's.

It wasn’t available on the S model. You could add it by replacing the steering wheel and turning it on with Forescan. I bought a steering wheel with the controls but sold it for a Covid windfall before I got around to doing it.

My daughter has a 2013. Great little car, except for the transmission. Hers hasn't hit 100k miles yet and has already needed two valve cover gaskets. Nice to see how well the engine has held up on those types of oils as her car has had a steady diet of quick change oil for it's lifetime.

You can bring your own oil and filter for them to install.
I'm too old now. I just have them install VRP. I watch them through the glass wall , make sure my baby is properly maintained, pay, and leave.

No, I don't know the technical detail. I do know multiple software upgrades were involved. I don't know if any hardware was involved. but I suspect it was. Mine has been flawless approaching 100K miles.

I think the seal they used didnt account for cold or heat and and a bunch of gear box oil would leak onto the clutch itself resulting in problems.

I would expect them to find out such an issue within a year, but Hyundai did something just like it. Whe had to replace the input shaft seal on every box of that type. In typical Hyundai fashion, the seal is fitted from inside the box so the whole thing has to come apart. There never was a recall.

I wanted to buy one when they came out but I just couldn't fit in them. The steering wheel was too low and stuck too close to the seat. Even with the seat all the way back, I had to kinda climb over the steering wheel to get in. Once in, I did like driving it.

I had a fiesta and i loved it but after surgery the my knee kept banging into door dashboard junction and that was painful
