Im working on a 2013 mdx. The vehicle is in great shape and runs great except for an oil consumption issue. I am performing a piston soak. So far the pistons have been soaking for 24 hours. I am clearing out the cylinders of any solution now. I am trying to get the motor to turn over with the crank bolt but i can only 1/2 turn out of the crank before it feels like it locks up going forwards or backwards. I have all 6 spark plugs out of the engine. I am quite confused because the only thing done is remove the spark plugs and pour in the solvent then put the plugs back in to help with evaporation. Then i removed all 6 and tried to turn it over by hand but it is like it’s locking up. I’m not sure what to try.

Have you cranked it with the starter, plugs out? Crank it till it’s cleared out. Replace the plugs and get it fired up. After some warmup, take it for a drive. Tell us how she runs…,

Those had block issues, the rings probably aren't your problem. As someone else has already said, I would boroscope the cylinders. The cylinder bores may also be out of round.
