Nice run, buster.

Looks like you can extend it a bit longer, if you like.

(Notice I leave it at "if you like".)

Great UOA. Thanks for sharing.

Were it me, I would aim for 15K OCIs and not push it much further. So for me that would be anywhere from 14K to 16K, given factors relating as to when one gets around to doing the actual oil change.

Viscosity is up a tad. I'm not sure I'd go past 15,000, but it may be ok. You'd have to resample. Great results otherwise.

I have been considering a new Subaru Outback.... Which engine is the most reliable? 2.5? How is the V6? Thanks... Sorry about the questions but I really like the Outback.

H6, not V6.

The 2013 got a heavy redesign for the 2.5 engine, which looks like takes care of the weak area for the HG issues of the previous years.

The 2010-11 had some "steering shake" issues, for which there are multiple TSB.

All in all, for something that can get 30MPG on the interstate while being a heavy AWD vehicle...I'm a fan. Don't like the 2010+ models myself, as they got too big for my tastes, but they are still good vehicles.

So, is Oil Analyzers correct that oil is at critical level?
To me the prior Moly level seems most unusual, what oil was this?

Amsoil Series 3000.

The old Amsoil formulations had oxidation issues. What I don't understand, is why Amsoil's own lab always flags oxidation as high with many long drain Amsoil UOA's. Why don't they take into account the virgin oxidation number? The only thing that may suggest some oxidation is going on is the viscosity which is creeping up, but no concern yet. The older Amsoil 30 grade formulations would thicken ino the mid 40 grade pretty quickly in some cases. This hasn't been an issue for awhile.

I don't think the oxidation is much higher than a clean sample. But the nitration might be a little high. A TAN would have been nice to do some cross referencing.

I've always liked this oil the best of the signature series on paper and it has performed well in most S2000 UOA's that I've seen. The ZDDP levels look like an API SN oil now. Is it?
