2011 GMC Sierra

Just bought a 2011 gmc Sierra z71 crew cab. It has the 5.3 flex fuel with the cylinder deactivation system. What oil and oci would you guys recommend, it has 48000 miles on it, bought it from a dealer so not sure of previous maintenance. I drive a 15 mile trip to work mixed city and highway driving and some back road driving on the weekends, a short 1 mile trip in to town and back once or twice a week probably

5w/30 if extending oci go with a synthetic . Good motor and durable. Enjoy new truck.

I use Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 in my 5.3 liter Silverado, and change it according to the oil life monitor... and not worry one bit.

2011 Is the first year of the dexos 1 specification and 7500 mile oil change interval just pick a dexos approved oil and change at interval or when change oil soon light comes on.
