I especially like
"All-new powertrain lineup includes North America's first application of Ford's global 2.0-liter EcoBoost™ I-4 engine, delivering class-leading fuel economy"

So it looks like the edge will be the first recipient of the 4 cylinder Ecoboost. Sweet! It looks like they are adressing most of the major complaints about the edge. Namely the bland, cheapish interior, and the poor braking performance. Awesome! So the edge gets the 2.0L Ecoboost, a new version of the 3.5L Duratec, and the 3.7L v6 for the sport. All get a 6 speed automatic. Sweet. I also, really, REALLY like this.

Well the dash cluster is certainly useless. Tiny tach, no oil pressure, no voltmeter, no temp gauge.

I've never cared for the Edge, but I'd gladly take a Flex.

I wish they'd stop with all these crossovers and cute-utes. Get back to making nice small cars and hatchbacks!

Yeah, the dash.....may take some getting used to. Didn't even know there was a tach there until 440 mentioned it. I sure miss all the guages. I always like to know what my engine is doing all the time.

With all of them being slush boxes(is there a MT Edge option) I dont see any need for a tach anyway.

My Windstars always had them, what a waste. But I agree about Temp, Volt, Oil Press and useful gauges...where have they all gone?

Too many fancy electronics and guages.

Give me a real oil pressure, rpm, fuel, and heat guage and I am happy.

People don't want those. Heck, I'd never buy a hatchback and most people I know wouldn't either. People want SUVs, but not the gas mileage that comes with them. CUVs are a great comprimise, they get usually mid 20s or better mileage, and have plenty of interior room.

Y'all are all so old fasnioned. Generally today, you don't need an oil pressure gauge (except in trucks and the like), and especially a voltage gauge. When have any of you actually used the voltage gauge? Give me Speedo, a tach, fuel and coolant temp and I'm happy.

Rudolphna, you wouldn't drive the new Focus hatch or the Fiesta hatch? They both look great to me, I miss the five door Focus, it was always my favorite flavor of Focus. They are a hatchback right, am I confusing terms?

You are right though, I am old fashioned, I think they should bring back a station wagon version of the Taurus, in AWD with a SHO package...lol....I'll take one!

Well, I'll grudgingly admit that the Focus hatch is pretty nice looking. But I'm just thinking of things like the gremlin, and going blech.

Then you can call me old fashioned.

The oil idiot light in cars doesn't tell me anything... other than to check under the hood. The oil pressure gauge tells me what is really happening and well in advance of any idiot light.

You forgot to add the Pacer to that. Ever drive one?
