Head gasketWas it a hg?
I strictly run these on my older Kubota garden tractors. They always hold up well.See
485hrs and the oil was probably changed once between 2016 and 2024.Ones got 485hrs it running a Kubota 3cyl 900cc diesel. Don't know it's that's all on the same oil change.
When were they selling these?
Just within the last few years or longer?

Lmao. Heads are gonna roll with this oneI strictly run these on my older Kubota garden tractors. They always hold up well.
Don’t knock it until you try it.Lmao. Heads are gonna roll with this onepoor kubota. Needs to be taken away from you
I've run these as well on my Kubota until they became hard to find. Have a 9688 on it now.Don’t knock it until you try it.![]()
The orange ones are called orange cans of death. Might be fine for a little kubota, but some of the bigger diesels have a lot of oil pressure and can cause it to fail.I've run these as well on my Kubota until they became hard to find. Have a 9688 on it now.
Do they list a regular vs severe interval listed? Does kubota offer a pre-filter to extend air filter replacement?I've never been a fan about how car makers are stretching out oci. 10k miles seems to be the standard nowadays. Now back to the kubota, looks like the L2800 which was the similar sized model before the L2501 was brought out called for a 100 hour engine oil change interval, well the 2501 calls for a 200hr oci. Some manuals say 400hrs for some reason depending on whether it's the paper manual or the electronic manual.
Anyways, with that being said is changing a 6 quart sump on a little 3 cylinder 1.4 liter diesel every 200 hours sufficient? I'm definitely not doing 400hrs, this thing can eat a lot of dust when I break out the brush hog and go out and mow.

My L2501 didn't come with one from the factory, but you can add one
what piece of equipment is it mounted to? What are your oil change intervals?I've run these as well on my Kubota until they became hard to find. Have a 9688 on it now.
You can also use the 7317.I've run these as well on my Kubota until they became hard to find. Have a 9688 on it now.
I think that is reasonable. There are many posts of people who after 20k on a car, are still either having breaking metals in the oil, or they have an issue, either way is inconclusive, as far as OA can tell. All I'm saying is I don't want to do a uoa and find a bunch of wear metal from break in. Doesn't really tell me much. The same thing happened with my diesel truck when it was new. Yeah the metal trended downward after a while but still. It sounds like 200hrs is the typical oci for this type of engine so I'm not really worried too much. You guys reassured me enough
Thats about what I do per year, sometimes less. In earlier years I changed it every 50 hrs but got lazy so it now once a year.I change the engine oil in mine every year, but I think usage matters more. I rarely go over 100 a year these days.
If you were using it 8 hours a day, on a continued basis, I would go the max suggested in the book. If you use it sparingly, do once a year. Cant hurt, and cheap insurance.
i used to run my stuff quite a bit professionally on jobsites, and used the book interval. But these engines are about indestructable, provided you change the oil. a 5 dollar filter and 20 bucks of oil every year is not a waste of money.Thats about what I do per year, sometimes less. I've cut open several of them with zero issues. The orange ones are called orange cans of death. Might be fine for a little kubota, but some of the bigger diesels have a lot of oil pressure and can cause it to fail.

It's a D1105 on a Kubota B2620. I change the oil yearly. I probably put between 50-100 hours on the machine a year. Oil and filters are cheap.
what?Idk, at one point they had failures. May have been 20 years ago and I would imagine the issue was fixed whatever it was. Any long time lurker on here should be familiar with the term fram orange can of death.
I'd do a quick internet searchwhat?
take off the foil hat dude.
The L2501 isn’t exactly a big Kubota IMO.The orange ones are called orange cans of death. Might be fine for a little kubota, but some of the bigger diesels have a lot of oil pressure and can cause it to fail.
I also run the Fram XG3593A, along with a 5W-40 synthetic diesel oil, on my Kubota B3300SU. It's got the 4 cyl engine called V1505.I always use Fram OG Ultra XG3593A or OG Titanium FS3593A.
