2008 Tundra -- clearcoat was flaking off hood.

This thread went off the rails. I think the OP did the right thing and he can change the color of his hood about any time he wants to. I would do that and make the truck two tone: wrap the roof and the fenders and doors down to the trim line above the wheel wells. A darker silver/gray would look great but up to him. Maybe some pin striping between the two colors?

I see it kinda matches the fender flares, so I think it works on this truck. Looks good to me.

I think it's so 2024. Toyota is doing this (random black) on all their new vehicles. Fenders, a-pillars, bumper valances etc.

I'm NOT bashing it, just saying you're very modern ATM
