The V-6 2008 Grand Vitara has a no name/no number filter put on by the dealer. It has a 22M thread and is 3" in diameter.
The wix site does not have any suzuki after 2004
Fram says it takes a 3/4"
Luber says it takes a 3/4"

There is no way it takes a 3/4" (22mm is .866"). Obviously Fram and Luber are wrong.

For now I'm using the Luber PH500 that goes on my 2009 Grand Cherokee. Any other suggestions?

That's what Purolator says too. Amsoil spec's a 51391 which is a 3/4-16 filter.

I don't think that they're wrong ..just wrong in Bolivia.

Order the 3/4-16 X 22-1.5 nipple from a US Suzuki dealer.

Thanks. Interesting......... So maybe Suzuki is using the GM engine in those?...... Or GM is using a Suzuki engine.

A curious question is what the real difference is in those two filters you mention. I don't have my book here, but the first one retails for $33 and the 2nd one is less than $6.

I have a 2007 Grand Vitara with the 2.7 V6 and it does indeed have a 3/4-16 mount. I guess in South America they use a 22mm mount.

Also, that motor is all Suzuki. No GM components that I am aware of.

All very curious. The Suzuki used in GM vehicles gets the GM thread ..as do some Suzuki vehicles elsewhere. Suzuki's sold in the US by Suzuki use the Ford/Mopar/VW/AUDI thread.

I don't have a clue why the filters differ in price so much. Only one shows up on Wix radar as valid.

What's odd is that the one for Honda P550600 xref's to a WIX number 51378.

The one that doesn't - is spec'd by Donaldson for 2007 GM light trucks ..which is a 22x1.5M thread, but WIX offers 57060. The 57060 x'ref's to P550794

It appears to be a one-way x'ref. Wix doesn't think Donaldson's offering meets their criteria ..but Wix meets Donaldson's criteria.

The 51378 is about twice the price of the 57060 and is limited by WIX (applications) to Acura and Sterling.

Make Model Engine
ACURA LEGEND V6 2.7L 2675cc
ACURA LEGEND V6 3.2L 3206cc
ACURA NSX V6 3.0L 2977cc
ACURA NSX V6 3.0L 2997cc
ACURA NSX V6 3.2L 3179cc
ACURA TL V6 3.2L 3206cc
STERLING 827 Series V6 2.7L 2675cc

The P550600 list no extended applications ..but list a Honda spec (HONDA 15400PL2004, 005, 305) ..which is an Acura so to speak

This is all very un-Prêt-à-Porter. Nothing is "ready to wear"

Now I have the catalog in front of me and for these two it does not show any efficiencies for either of these two, nor all of the details.
Time for email..........
