My second "checkup" for my xB... Used PP 0W20 for 5,000 miles. Only changes since last run was the new AEM CAI versus the AFE Pro Dry S panel filter I had in. Looks like Silicon dropped which is good.

So what do you think, go 7,000 or is that pushing it a bit? With winter coming up, I may try 6,000 first and then move on from there.

I get real low silicon with a Fram air filter every 20,000. Got them on Amazon for $4. See my report just below yours with PP 5w30 on my Lexus.

I am more then happy with my silicon results on this sample. As long as I am at, or below the average I am good with that! :D

Other than a concern for warranty purposes 5,000 mile oil change intervals is a waste of M1 this oil should go 10,000 miles . I would guess the drop in Si ia the miles on the engine.

I am running Pennzoil Platinum, not Mobil 1. And I was running 5k for warranty purposes but now I plan to start increasing the OCI to benefit the most out of the money I spend on this oil!

From the title it looks like he is running Pennzoil Platinum 0W20, not Mobil 1.

Plus, if it were Mobil 1 don't you think my iron would be through the roof?

I kid... I kid...

What's the point of analysis if you don't follow their suggestion(s) based on the data? Isn't the point of the analysis is to see if your OCI is appropriate & if you can go longer?

Why do you even bother with rip off wallet lightner like after market air filter's? Unless you are turbo charging or super charging your stock air filter will flow twice as much air as that engine could ever use. Their is nothing to be gained it is one of the biggest scams int he history of modern car's. Back when carberated vechiles and super primitive fuel injection rulled the roost many of the vechiles on the road had really restrictive air filters and or air intake duct work that was obstructive. Today that is not an issue though because the emission laws combined with the power levels that the engines are putting out dictate that they have fre flowing intake.

In fact my 2.4L Toyota has an air filter that is either the same size or larger then my wifes 1997 Buick Lasaber which is a 3.8V6 and it is almost as large as the air filter on my Mom's 4.7L Tundra. So if that filter can flow enough air for both a 3.8V6 and a 4.7V8 then it can more then handle the air flow needs of the 2.4 2AZ-FE engine. Most important though is that it will do it and keep the engine clean at the same time. My Camry a 2003 has a dual plenum ram air scoop that is mounted to collect cold air from the grill area. I do not know how it could get any better then that unless you are using some form of forced induction. Most of all I do not have to listen to a bunch or air noise.

The UOA is ok at best but it could be a lot better!

Really? He has single digit wear numbers and is below average in every category? What areas could use improvements?
