Youch... just got of the phone with the oil company, and it looks like it will be ~76 bucks shipped to get that special oil.

Own6, it's actually not that much more expensive than most VW approved oils. I usually purchase enough for 2 changes, that spreads the shipping cost out. And remember that you will probably get longer life with this oil.

When you dont figure in shipping, it costs about 10-15 bucks more per oil change than the Castrol Syntec 502.00 oil I used. And that is including the 6th qt for spare in my trunk.

If you can double your OCI, and reduce wear, which may both be possible, then it would be a net gain. Of course, the UOA necessary to find out would negate any financial gain on the 1st oil change.

Do you know if you have the new hardened camshaft? My guess is you would given the relatively late build-date.

I looked at your UOA again and honestly, your wear doesn't look that bad for a car breaking in. It will be more telling if you get a UOA when the vehicle has more than 10k on the clock. I'd use Dyson analysis too because you get a more accurate reading of fuel dilution which is the big problem in these engines.
