Z,how was this car broken in? I sometimes think engines like this need a lot of WOT from the beginning to really help seat the rings which can help prevent fuel dilution and blow by. Obviously it might be too late at this point.

It's a shame you have to run such a high viscosity oil in this engine. I honestly don't think that is the best choice here but see what happens...

I'd personally spend the extra money on Amsoil 0w-20 or PP 5w-20. Especially in turbo.
 
I guess 5W-40 synthetic will be my next move. I just want to find one with a lot of detergency.

buster, I believe I have the same problem RI-RS4 has. A rich mixture and Direct Injection can really wash down just about any oil film on the cylinders. This run of 15W-40 should be ok, especially now that is so hot. I'm hoping the thicker oil can contain some of the fuel and turn in better wear and insolubles.
