Hi y’all

I have an 07 gmc sierra 1500 and recently i’ve been noticing the oil level going down but really slow and looked under rig and looks like a small drop coming from looks like near the oil cooler line assembly gasket? not sure if that a popular thing to leak or something else near there that looks like that, any ideas or advice helps!

thanks
Jake

The Oil Cooler to Oil Pan gasket is a common leak point.....But so is the Oil Pan Gasket itself as high pressure oil passes through the oil pan gasket on it's way to & from the Oil Filter.

The Oil Cooler gasket is easy enough to swap, Clean the area real well afterward.....If the leak reappears, You need a new pan gasket.

thank you and will replace gasket in oil cooler and clean and inspect

One more thing that is often overlooked, There's a plug in the Oil Cooler Adaptor Base, The O-ring will harden & leak. IIRC.....It's a 5/16"/8mm allen drive. I use an A/C O-ring to reseal the plug.
You will need an impact to get the plug out as the transmission bellhousing is in the way to break it loose while still bolted to the oil pan. If you try to use hand tools....You'll likely twist the lines up.
