Anyone know whether the oem brake pads are ceramic, metallic, or semi metallic? I'm going to have front pads installed on Monday and would like to use oem from the dealer, but will probably have to get them from the auto parts store, unless this is a regularly stocked item at the dealer.

The OE pads for your Ram seem to be semi-metallic, but of course you can use any type of pads

Rock Auto carries the OEM Mopar pads if that is what you wish to use.

Hawk makes very good pads for truck applications. The Hawk LTS pads are well-regarded.

OE is Semi-Metallic... Stick to that if you do hauling or towing. Ceramic would be a smoother, quieter choice if you do a lot of city driving or whatever.

Great pads, it's what I have on my Escape.

just changed the pads on my 06 2500. wagner severe duty. they are semi metallic. no noise and nice grip.

I would not use Thermo quiets on your Ram. They are good pads but not a good choice for your vehicle. I agree with italian68 that the Wagner severe duty semi metallic is a better choice.

I went with the severe duty wagner semi metallic. They were only like $35 compared to $57 for the thermo quiets. Kind of weird. I had to order them, they'll be in tomorrow.
