I recently recieved my analysis from blackstone and they said my lead content was 66 ppm. This is with castrol 10w30 edge and approximately 7,000 miles. They said the bearings are what is causing this unless it is an anomaly, and to get it retested in 3,00 miles. Anyone else had bearing wear and what did you do to combat it?

Did they mention a particle streak?

I wouldn't be alarmed unless it has shown up in multiple UOA

From their FAQ
Quote:

Lead shot up in my last report. You said I might have a particle streak through the bearings. What is that?

A particle streak occurs when a very small piece of dirt gets lodged in the bearings and spins around, gouging out a streak of lead, before becoming dislodged. A particle streak will cause a temporary increase in lead, and then once the dirt leaves the system, lead drops back down.

Can we see the rest of the report??

The more information we get, the better the replies (sometimes).

Thanks for the quick response guys. I would post the oil report but am basically computer illiterate. They mentioned nothing about a particle streak but my silicone was at 22 and should be 12.

This engine is notorious for eating timing chains when the factory OCI is followed with less than optimal oils. Any startup noise?

I hope its been a fairly trouble free 172,000 miles. My 07 3.5 v6 with 30k was a money pit(out of warranty).

If you post up the report others would be able to see if anything else is going awry(particle streak could be culprit or could be something else like coolant).

Tthe 06 g6 v6 has been pretty trouble free. No startup noise and my timing chain was replaced I think at about 80,000 miles. Front struts, right front wheel bearing, and front brakes with the rotors replaced as well.

My report will be posted soon hopefully.
