I'm coming up on time to change my transfer case fluid again and trying to decide what to get. Auto trak 2 fluid is not commonly available near me, so I'd be going to the dealership for it. Last 2 changes have been Valvoline multi vehicle transfer case fluid which is "recommended" for auto trak 2 applications. It seemed to work fine.

I'm considering Amsoil because i like the squeeze bags for refilling easier out in my driveway. It seems like Amsoil recommends their universal ATF for this application....so I assume it's safe to use instead of auto trak 2? I never use auto mode anyway if that makes a difference.

Which exact model and engine 2005 Silverado?

Nothing wrong with the Amsoil but Valvoline has it too, I purchased a case from Amazon awhile back, currently $50.09 case 6 qts.

I'm in Canada and so far every time I've looked at lubricants on Amazon the price is several times retail price. I assumed they were selling a bottle of oil with drugs inside, since Amazon is run by criminals, but I guess it's some law's about chemicals crossing the border or something.
Not sure what the reason is but I only buy from Amazon when the price is significantly lower than options because I feel better not supporting them. Especially when you consider their fake review policies.

I’d use Maxlife if it was mine. I bought Auto Trak 2 the last time I needed some, but my local Napa keeps it in stock for pretty cheap. We’ve got a Trailblazer that calls for it, it currently has Auto Trak 2 in it, but it’ll likely get Maxlife next time since I have a bunch of it on the shelf in the shop.
