2005 Dodge Magnum oil change.

Just bought a 2005 Dodge Magnum 5.7l. 52k miles. Love this car. Noticed it calls for 5-20 oil, 7 qts. Curious why Dodge calls for 3k mi oil change intervals.? Especially holding 7 qts! Never had a car that didn't require 5k miles. Heck my Expedition says 7500!

7 quarts is not so much oil for a 5.7l! My Mercedes 5.5l takes 9 quarts.

But 3000 mile oci is low! Sure that's not severe service?

Are you sure thats not the "severe service" schedule?

Plenty of cars are stuck in the past when it comes to those two curse words.

Bet its not 3000. My 09 5.7 truck was every 6,000 and then incresaed to 8,000. The 5.7 Hemi is easy on oil and spark plugs.
