OK, first off, thanks VERY much to Gary Allan for his help with this posting. It's my first and I had no idea how to do it.

The subject says it all.....the CR-V has a total of 36,427 miles on it now, and did 10,001 miles between changes. PureOne filter. I'm highly pleased with the results. I'd say this vehicle does/did 60% street/40% highway over the mileage. The timespan was 11 months.
Current new oil is PP 5w20 with the same filter. Do we think this will do the 10k as easy as the M1 EP did?
Comments welcome!

I think that the 2.4 is one of the best and durable engines on the planet. I am always impressed that Blackstone will recommend longer intervals.

Yeah, nice results. I find the additive levels a little low for an M1 oil - usually B is as high/higher than moly....

You'll probably get slightly lower Fe readings with the PP...and yes, it will also go a full 10k miles w/o issue.....

while I think PP will hold up, I dont think it will be as good as these numbers. Please prove me wrong. :)

I agree but will do one more UOA with the PP in it after 10k to find out for sure, and then make a decision on what oil to stick with. The PP is so much cheaper when combined with a PureOne filter and rebate at P-Boys.

Wow. Some nice solid data for M1 EP.

Shows 20 weights protect just fine!

Are you going to take it up to 15k??

Clearly M1 EP is working well. How come you switched to PP?

Excellent car, great engine. You could run almost anything in that car and it would return nice results. PP will work just fine in that engine/oci combo.

This report being good has more to do with it being the Honda 2.4L than the oil. M1 is good, but the Honda engine is better.

What would be considered a higher-than-desired level of silicon in this situation? It's a Wix air filter that was changed at the 30k mark.

Every time (well, not every time, but frequently) I drive the 2.4
I can't think of a better engine in regards to the balance between power, fuel mileage, durability, and dependability. I can't wait till this one wears out so I can get another before they stop making them

Generally, all of Honda's K series are great engines!

I agree, but not on power. Lack of low end torque. Great engine though.
