Not according to the oil gauge!!!
Front and rear crank seals are there to keep oil in and dirt out, they are exposed to splash oil and blow-by crankcase pressures but not directly exposed to direct oil pressure from the oil pump.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone on a 5w-20 in one of these.

Any rate I’ll echo the Mobil 1 Euro FS 0W-40. Cheap and plentiful at Walmart.

I've rebuilt hundreds of engines.

The text didn't deliver the joke correctly apparently.

I'm sorry chorty, didn't know added pressure would not bother seals. And no, I don't have all the toys you have to make life easier. I had a trusty tree limb that I would have to get the vehicle in just the right spot. Do what you think is best. It's just that in all of my years playing with engines, when I would thicken the viscosity of the oil, due to a piston rap or oil burning, I always ended up with a rear or front main seal leak. Sorry if I gave you bad information, it was not intentional.

No worries. But 12 bottles of STP will twist off oil pump drive shafts when its -30*F.

And for the record, I've used trees to pull.engines when the equipment was too big to fit in the shop. Or too heavy to move to the shop.

I've also welded iron right on the machine to use as a hoist. Afterwards, cut off, buff out the boogers, dash of paint. OSHA will never know.

Thanks for understanding. You are quite an innovator, and a great welder I must say. Not too many of those left anymore, at least not in NY. You know what you're doin. That 4.3 will be like the Energizer Bunny with you watchin it :)
