Hi All-

Is it really possible there are no grease fitting on the propeller shaft? I assume it would then be a 'lubed for life' kind of deal? I know the Pajero (European Montero) does have these fittings, but I cannot find them at all. Is there anyone out there that can 100% confirm if they do exist and I am maybe not seeing them?

If it is in fact sealed, will it do any good to squirt some grease into the exposed areas of the joint?

Thanks!

Are you talking about a airplane or a truck? Last time I saw a propeller shaft it was on a plane.

If your talking about grease fittings on the drive shaft U-Joint's it is very possible that there are none. Many vehicles now have lubed for life U-Joints.

THis is from an online dictionary:

propeller shaft
–noun
1. a shaft that transmits power from an engine to a propeller.
2. a drive shaft.

[Origin: 1830–40]

I think in the vernacular the shaft on a ground vehicle has come to be more commonly known as a drive shaft. It's not wrong to call it by its more generic description.
