Looking for thoughts on lubrication for the rear halfshafts on my TR6. The half shafts have splines, but there are no grease nipples, so this is a lube and forget until the next time you remove them situation and there is no reason to remove them (other than service) besides replacing the u joints or the wheel bearings, neither of which fail very often. That said, I do remove them and re-lube every 10 years or so.
The original spec'd grease (from 1974) is NLA and I was using Honda Moly 60 paste which is also NLA. I am out of the Honda product and looking for thoughts. These splines do get a workout and when they bind it gets exciting, they bind that side of the suspension. I haven't happen since my first TR6 in '82 and want to keep it that way
Thoughts and experience??
