There is no PZ superduper oil filter. They're currently made by Purolator (last checked) and are probably on par with MC.

btw-how's the filter oriented on your year 2.0? The PH16 size filter works on my son's 96 without sticking out below the pan (vertical) ..but looking at a 2.4 in a PT, you can fit the MEGA 51773 due to the horizontal orientation. I don't know what they did with later 2.0 engines.

Meant oil; thought that's what he was talking about? I kind of worked it all into one sentence. Maybe it's my bad...

All 2.0L engines to my knowledge have the filter facing down from behind the pan.

At this point, it looks like I'll be going with Amsoil for both the oil and fiter, now that I have actually compared prices for what I would pay for each. For 5 quarts of ASM and a filter, it'll cost me ~$46.25. For the Mobil 1 oil and filter, I'm looking at ~$52.44. Heck, I can get AMSOIL Signature Series for about $0.30 more per quart than the Mobil 1! I need 6 quarts of ASM for my Mustang too, so it'll even end up coming out a bit cheaper than that if I just buy a case of ASM, and I'll have a spare quart just in case or to top off after pulling a sample from the Neon. I am actually a bit excited at the same time if I really go that route in the end. I don't mind pushing the limits a bit with this car to see how long the oil can actually last! They are tough little buggers!

Yeah, they're tough enough. They are just too boring for most people. I really think that they blew it by replacing this car. They also blew it in abandoning the "fun" aspect of it. I find it quite a nice highway car. The interior is roomy enough ..once I get inside the thing. I'm not use to "standing up" to get out after my jeeps and my 2nd gen minivan. I can actually fold myself to sit and pull my head inside. Normally that requires power crunches in many cars.

I agree...they should have kept them! I'm 6' 1" and not a small guy and I have enough room inside as well, though I have to do that "crunch" thing a bit too.
