My 2000 Toyota has 282,000 km on it. The front valve cover has started to leak so I decided to pull the cover and have a look. The last 7 oil changes have been PP 5W30 at about 8000 km OCI. Prior to that I used brand name (PYB, GTX, QS, etc) dino 5W30 changed at 10,000 km on average. I have changed out the PCV valve 3 times. The Cam lobes still look very good!

I had the same van. Sold her with 133000. The next owner loves it. It was my in-laws from new. He had dealer service up to 50000. Not one bit of sludge ever. I ran coastal synthetic and pp to 10000 miles or one year. Once I ran it to 15000 and topped it off once. Just to see if I could. Oil was fine. The motor ran like new when I sold it.
One tip . When you replace spark plugs , get the denso oem if they are still out there. Expensive but well worth it. They will run 100000 miles. That motor is good for 250000 plus without any work according to my dealer service writer.
