Car in question - 2005 Toyota Sienna, current fill is Pennzoil Platinum 5w30
I know that Pennzoil Conventional is an excellent oil and the new formulation of Pennzoil Conventional claims up to 40% of sludge being cleaned out in the first OCI. I have Pennzoil Conventional in an 2009 Prius and the car seems to like it so far - I only used synthetic in it since the 2nd oil change. Toyota calls for 5K OCIs but I seen Pennzoil Conventional go past 7K on a Honda.
However, we have a black sheep in the family garage - the Sienna uses a bigger and "improved" version of the 1MZ-FE sludge monster engine. I've been using Pennzoil Platinum, M1, and SynPower in this motor. Can Pennzoil Conventional hold up in a motor that is known to sludge up? I'm using the factory maintenance required idiot light for OCIs.
