Hey all,

This is my friend's 2000 Toyota Camry UOA with 2.2L 5SFE engine.
Since the engine has 285K miles I was curious to see how the engine is doing plus I wanted to see if there is any coolant in the oil.

Oil is conventional. It could be Valvoline NextGen but we are not sure.
The OCI is estimated between between 7K and 10K miles.
I added about 0.75 quart of Castrol Syntec and my friend added some more as well. Exact make up oil is estimated.
I would say this car is driven 70/30 city/highway.
Oil filter was Purolator Classic

Get the TBN if you are planning on running this far on each oil change.

Otherwise, the wear metals look very good.

I would not worry about TBN at this point unless your friend! Ants to extend his OCI further but all in all with the make up oil added this is a pretty boring UOA. This makes users that have to change their high price synthetics at 5K a little bit

Don't overheat it, tune it up once and a while, and change the oil, it WILL go for a long time. Lots of aftermarket replacement parts for it at less than Toyota prices.

The moly is not coming from Valvoline unless it's Maxlife, but it's too low to be Maxlife. Residual from a previous oil maybe?

Other than the moly it sure looks like Valvoline or GTX though.

Does GTX have that much Na?

The engine looks like it's still running as if it were new. Any oil leaks or unusual noises? Has the valve cover ever been off?

Thanks for posting.

My friend changes the oil every 5000 miles on his Camry but for some reason he forgot to change it this time. 4 people in his household uses this car.

We take care of this car but sometimes it will overheat after long highway drives for some reason. That's why I did this UOA to see how the engine is doing and if there is any coolant.

Yes it leaks and I think burns as well. The belts make some noises but overall this car seems to go forever! I took off the valve cover a couple of years back and it was just normal varnish but no sludge.

Thanks all for your comments.

GTX 5/30 does not contain Moly, so it's something else. The Moly level is very typical of a lot of oils and is too high to be a left over. The Sodium figure might help ID the oil as it's fairly high.

I think it's still the original. My friend got this car back in 2005 with 130K miles.
