2000 Chevy paint peeling

I apologize. As for my name, I’m known around this town as Candyman. It started at church when a lady knew I kept mints in my shirt pocket. Then word of mouth spread. Now I take 2 large baskets of candy to church.
Now for the info I apologize for. When I went to a dealer for a different problem, i was told it was a 2003. In actuality, it’s a 2008. As for why wanting to correct the paint? Every van from 2000 - 2010,(white only) is peeling. The peeled paint is on the hood, rear door and rain drip. It’s looks bad. As to why I care about such an old van, it was my moms and given to me before she died. I would like the passenger van to last. I can transport my wife, children and grandkids.
I was told there was a recall for 5 years. But was told, don’t even try to fix because it will continue. I watched a video where the person showed how to repair the peeling.
I thought I would ask if anyone had info on repairing it

A good fix would be expensive, you'd want the best body shop in your town to strip it to bare metal then go back at it. Anything less is piecework and the old will pop through the new.

As for paint "lasting the life of the van", some part, some piece has to be the first to go. Be happy it's the paint, not a transmission or whatever. It's like saying you don't want to die of disease, but "old age" instead. 😁

My 93 Dodge Roatrek has a lot of paint peeling. I need to get it repainted but good paint shops are very hard to find around here. Some around here won't even look at ac car over 20 years old.

What's up with your member name and owning an old van? Who replaced the hood and why? I assume a body shop did and if so, some shops back their workmanship and some don't. Go check with them.
An old white van.....
