I have had the oil changed in both of my cars at this Jiffy Lube and so far no problems.
But I have always brought my own oil and filter.
I just cant pass up on a $20.19 oil change.
Anybody know what filters they use?

Normally Pennzoil filters it does depend on the owner.

my ne passat gets dealer lof at 10k mile oci. my sw yaris gets lof at 3k, 18 month oci wherever i can get a $20 lof. the past two times it's been done at a goodyear tire franchise with 10w30 kendall semisynthetic. if this option goes away then walmart with quaker state conventional seems to be the next best option. imho jiffy lube is way overpriced.

You need to get acquainted with a small local independent shop. Mine uses my oil and filter, lubes all my zerk fittings, rotates my tires, and checks my tire pressure for $20 cash.
Just out of curiosity, what or how old of a car has zerk fittings. Only my 65 mustang has them.

I usually buy a jug of Super Tech high mileage oil for $16.00 and a tough guard filter for about $6.00 (?) and take them to Jiffy Lube.
They charge me $32.00 labor. I dont do it myself anymore.getting old.
So my cost for a 3 quart change and filter is about $57.00 with tax.
Jiffy Lube sent me an e mail coupon for a conventional oil change for $20.19.
A savings of about $37.00.
The only concern I have is going into a bitter cold Colorado winter without synthetic oil.
Am i just being too paranoid?

If it's out of warranty buy a Mityvac or a Chinese copy from Harbor Freight and use an extended drain high efficiency filter like the Fram Ultra and suck the oil out of the dipstick tube and only change the filter every other time. The local Quick Lane (Ford) here will change oil and filter if you bring your own for $20 regardless of brand. You might check and see what they will do it for there.

Even better if you have something like an F150 2.7EB with a top mount cartridge filter you can suck the oil out and change the filter all from the top side.

Sorry, posted on another zombie revived from the dead. I always forget and only look at the last post date.
