For my 07 Fusion I priced a M1 oil filter, cartrige type, at AZ last night and it was $20.00! Would have had to order it. No that's not a typo. I was in there for other business so I had the clerk to price it and gasped when he told me. I changed oil two weeks ago and purchased Pure 1 for less than $7.00.

Wow, I'd stick with the Pure One filter then. The M1 filters are great, but not at almost three times the cost of a Pure One.

I usually get my M1 filter when AAP or AZ run the M1 oil specials, which come with the Mobil 1 oil and filter. That and the occasional rebate from Mobil, make it too cheap to pass up.

It's probably AZ that is laughing all the way to the bank

Remember that you do get what you pay for!

(just kidding)

There is NO WAY I'd even think about a Mobil 1 filter for that price or even at their "normal everyday" price of $14.99.

Pureones are excellent filters.

In my area M1 filters are $10.00 to $12.99 depending on the store for spin on filters. Most of the time I get the M1 oil and filter special at AAP, but if I can't geet that deal I'll buy a Pure 1. Yes, there is no way I'll spend $20,00 on a single oil filter. I still don't see why the cartrige filters are so high.

Because they are new and less mfg making them. Plus people are willing to pay the excess cost for them.

I was at Wal-Mart and showing to my 16 year old daughter the differences of filters and showed her a $18 cartridge filter that was really cheap looking compared to a $10 filter that would fit on a Ford diesel truck.

Its obvious that the cartridge does not cost even 1/2 of what the other filter to make.

But I'm sure they sell a lot of both.

I'm glad the filters I need are less than $3.
