FYI there are x2 different Mobil European 0w-40's.

Wal-Mart Euro M1 with black label. I run Motul 300V 5w40 in all the other race cars, seems like overkill in this motor ?

That's Euro FS & it is a great product that should serve you just fine in your VW.

220 usually...240 last race on July 21 in Pittsburgh...ambient temps were up there and we were really running the motor hard, redline on every shift. Got 2nd in class though !

Sounds perfect. 240 is no issue for a quality synthetic.

Pittsburgh = PittRace? Great track. Haven’t been there in a long time but fond memories. Also lots of rain that made less fond memories.

An XOM engineer told me that the SP formulas of 0W-40 FS and X2 5W-50 have compatible base oils and the exact same additive package, so you can mix them in any ratio to taste and produce a higher HTHS than the 0W-40 alone if needed.
