1st oil/filter change

Didn't notice any metal or rainbow in the used oil. Definitely had a gas smell like my Sonata GDI. Only 1524 miles in 6 months. Put factory filter on and Idemitsu Zeppo Touring 5w-30 in. Crush washer was painted on drain plug and had to tell in was there!!!

Does the oil filter make a mess when taken off? Nice looking ride!!!

The painted on drain plug and crush ring has always been a point of consternation for that first oil change on a Subaru. It really does take a lot of torque to break it loose. The good news is you won't have to deal with it again.

First time with the upside down filter. No mess at all. Started with oil drain and then filter.

It was really hard to tell. Looked in my drain pan and nothing. Used a small screwdriver and it popped off. It just didn't look right when I put the new crush washer on.

I have the same engine, easiest oil change ever!

Oil capacity is 5.1 liter and I found that a 5 liter jug will bring it to the upper fill mark, no need to measure.
