Hello.

Before the season I decided to have manifold gaskets changed and sent original injectors for testing and service. Injectors arrived but now engine runs on three and it appears that five injectors are dead. We swapped injector positions and cylinders died accordingly.

Which injectors are there available for a completely stock car? They would need to be a direct fit.

Original ones are made by Denso are marked F1ZE-C2A.

To my understanding these are type EV1 and have flow rate of 19 lb.

@Trav is our resident injector expert, with an injector cleaning business. He's the go to guy for these questions. I'm sure he'll weigh in when he sees this.

Those are old style pintel injectors and have a bad habit of sticking especially after being cleaned. You can replace these with the newer style Bosch 4 hole disc style.
These are a real upgrade to the old ones and are plug and play, the best part is they are only $25 ea from Rock Auto. They are a very good injector.
Bosch 62354

Edit: you can unstick the old ones by pulse triggering the injector with something like THIS while tapping it with a small hammer like HAMMER, once it starts clicking reinstall it right away and fire the engine.

Thanks for the advise. (y)

I was looking at those Bosch 62354 injectors but unfortunately this is the info at Rockauto site:

"Part # 62354 cannot ship to the EU or the UK because we do not have documentation from BOSCH about Russian steel content. Please choose a different brand. Click here to find an alternate."

May I ask what your opinion is regarding the Standard Motor Products FJ68 injectors?

SMP FJ68

They are available for shipping to Europe.

Standard are okay, no issues with them.

Edit: If you know someone in the USA that can ship them to you as a gift, you avoid a lot of problems. I have some guys in Latvia and Lithuania that ship me parts this way.

Thanks. (y)

I'll see tomorrow if they can find the Bosch injectors over here, if not then FJ68 they are.

Thanks for the tip. (y)

System showed that they had 18 pcs in stock. I hope that was accurate info as I placed and order.

Later Crown Victory/Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles with the 4.6L had the updated 4-hole injectors in this format. They are a direct replacement for these, though I'm not sure how easy it would be to find one of those in a wrecking yard in Finland.

Finn considering that you are in Finland, I would assume Volvo 240s and 940's are plentiful in your area? If so you should be able to use the injectors out for one of them. I had pulled a set of injectors in a junkyard out of a Ford pick up with a 302 and dropped plug and play into the Volvo B230F fuel rail and intake manifold.

Practically zero chances to find one at scrap yard. Typically maybe a couple of those for sale as runners.

Yes, I noticed that certain Volvos use the same injectors. But I thought that as the Bosch injectors were available in Germany as new items I thought it might be better choice. Hopefully we don't have to work with the upper manifold many times anymore.
