Recently purchased a wood-tow flatbed 93' F-350 truck with the 460 engine. No owners manual came with it. Was wondering what the reccomended oil or what I should use and works best. Its does have around 197K on it but in the 700mi I have drove it so far it lost maybe a quarter of a quart, if that. I have noticed a oil leak that appears from below the fan somewhere. Thanks

I'd use a high mileage oil such as Valvoline or Quaker State, probably 5W30 or even 10W30/10W40 in it, might help the leak somewhat. Compared to the gas it'll take to feed that beast-oil will be cheap! And,

I would never put anything other than 10-40 in a 385 motor regardless of temp or mileage.

lot of miles. it should have a safe 30-50K left on it then time to freshen up some bearings.
