Hey rippy, what kind of rpm does your Corolla turn at 80? Mine is at about 3600! Kind of scary to be at such high sustained rpms, but it doesn't seem to hurt these motors.

It has no tach

but from the way it sounds (I know that counts for a lot!) I bet it's the 3500-4000 range. It seems to be fine though. I usually don't drive that fast, but on this particular trip my Dad and I were trying to do four different things in the space of a day. My sister's '97 has the 3-speed auto. I've been in the car when she was speeding along at 90 MPH in the left hand lane. I wonder what it turns at that speed? Probably over 5k! They're tough little cars.

If there's one major thing I've learned on this forum, it's that oil isn't that much of a big deal, unless you've got a turbo or a sludge bucket or an intake gasket eater.

Wow! Someone who gets it...

Good report, don't worry about the lead. With 200k on the car and all city driving its all good.

I had a 15 of lead on my Subaru with a OCI of 4k and 12k total miles on the engine. That one I'm a little worried about. (and I ran syn)...

The report had low single digits on the UOA before using conventional oil.

Thanks for posting! (and learning from the board)

Take care, bill
