with 450hp P&W, so it was able to get in and out of the Leadville airport fly-in today.

Very neat. I didn't know that Leadville had a fly-in today. There are high altitude training classes for this reason yet every year 4 adults will cram into a Cessna 182/206 and fly into one of those airports. The paint job on that is spectacular.

With that big wing it stalls around 50 kts IAS at sea level, but at 10k' density altitude it stalls closer to 60kts TAS giving you a higher than usual ground speed which can be deceiving.

Parade in town beforehand, then the fly-in, car show, and free hamburgers and hotdogs, every 4th of July :)

Simply gorgeous.
There are a few of these on Trade-A-Plane for C172 money.
I would imagine the first annual would exceed the purchase price, but maybe not.
A very pretty and capable aircraft that would be fun to have and fly in a way that nothing modern would be.
Would have to learn to tap dance a taildragger landing though.
