14 BMW X3 Fram Endurance 10075

Time to own up! Previously, I posted about using the Fram Endurance 10075 cartridge filter in the X3. Many BIGTOG poster warned me to simply use OEM and I KNEW THEY WERE RIGHT but figured the N22 was docile enough the filter would be fine at 5-6k OCI. I have 20k on it now and a few OCI's with the Endurance. First few were solid but the last filter came out wavy. No tears, but I'm not going to wait for tears to happen. I ordered a few Mahale. I was in a rush and didnt't snap an image. If the one in there now comes out wavy, I'll post it.

That one still have backing (nylon mesh?) on the media? How the date code on the "wavy" one compare to the others that were not wavy?

I'm sure there are decent aftermarket filters for the BMWs, but I just stick with Mann for $11.

I realize all the issues many filter manufacturers have had in attempting to cheapen costs to manufacture, including Fram. I've had such good luck with the Ultra (older and newer build dates) I didn't think the N22 was THAT harsh on oil and filters. This little GTDI really cuts up oil and pushes the limits of an oil filter. First OCI of 6k returned a Visc of 10.59 (Mobil 1 Euro 0w40 virgin Visc 12.9).

All of three I've used had the mesh backing, including the wavy one. Unsure of the date code of the three previously used ones. The remaining two I have left have date codes a few months apart, but the year of manufacture on both is 2024. I erred above in saying I purchased Mahale. I picked up a few Mann filters. I'll be running them for now.
