10W40 in diesel engine.

The UOA results were OK with the 10W40, indicating no abnormal wear metals except copper
which is a Duramax thingie when the engine is worked hard.
The theory being the oil cooler is the source of the copper.

My 06 Duramax listed SAE 30 as an optional engine oil, but its not listed in the
2011 supplementary owner's manual.

Pet-Can Duron is in the 2011 engine since Oct 1st and has gone 4,800 miles.
On paper the Duron SAE 30 looks like Chevron 15W30's redheaded step sister.

My intention is to do a UOA comparison of the two engine oils.
The Duron UOA will cost me $22.00, but the Delo UOA is free if I get the
promotional deal.

Buying used is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get.

My trucks are easy to spot. They have their right side inner fender wall
duck-taped to make fuel filter access easier.
