Hi
2008 Chrysler Sebring 2.4 liter 4 cyl.
Although owners manual calls for 5w20.
Can I use 10w40 or 10w30 for this upcoming oil change?
I have an enough of this on hand , just wondering if it’s a mistake to use.
I change the oil and filter every 2,500 miles.
Thanks

Either.. Start with 10W-30. If it uses oil you may need to go to 40. I did that with my 08 Forester.
You are seriously overchanging oil.
I figure it’s a small price for (hopefully) a lot of benefits to the engine

You being in NYC (Winter hell region) I would run a 5W-30 or 10W-30 if it called for 5W-20??

I live in DFW and in winter months it rarely gets below 25 degrees lol!! And our winters are very SHORT 3-4 months!!! I run 30/40 weights in my 5W-20 Ford's cause I live in a warm/HOT climate region!!!

I feel 10W-40 might be a tad to thick for your region?? or at least save any 10W-40 for next summer 2025??
