hello...recently traded my motorcycle (Suzuki S40) on a almost new scooter (Genuine Hooligan 170i); I wasn't fond of that moto and prefer scoots...I will have no need for a jaso ma or ma2 oil since there is no wet clutch; the 'spec'd oil' is 15w-40 jaso mb...essentially diesel oil; many owners/shops will use 10w-40 motorcycle or scooter oil; the oci (after break-in) is @ 1800 miles;
the Hooligan is a '22 with 150 miles when I got it; there is no dedicated oil filter...ordered a magnetic drain plug kit to isolate the ferrous metal bits; selling dealer did oil change & rear differential fluid change...in went belray 10w-40 conventional motorcycle oil & belray 85w-140 gear oil; I have already put nearly 350 miles on (still in break-in phase) & plan to change fluids between 500-600 miles to get the junk out; want to do another change at 1000 miles...
thoughts on using 10w-40 conventional pcmo for the upcoming oil change? since the oil change will be short I would rather not spend money I don't need to...
