PLEASE no debate or anything.Don't want this topic locked out.

I have only 32k on my O5 Crown Vic using Motorcraft 5w20 but really looking for cars with over 100k.

Must be some people out there.

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean "that are spec'd for it and have used it for 100k" ..or those using 5w-20 with 100k or more??

Sorry>Yes for engines Spec'd for it and have used it for 100k or more.

But everybody is wellcome.

2001 Ford Windstar, 126,500 miles.
Bred and fed on Motorcraft 5W20, except for last change, trying Amsoil 5W20.
Runs excellent, never needing to add, always on the full mark (on 3,000 mile changes)but am going to take the last change farther (???).

Good Day,
Steven

2002 Ford Winstar company work van, 121,000 miles with a lot of idel time. Usally idels at least a couple of hours a day. 5W20 Motocraft since new. OCI at 5000 miles. Runs and sounds like the day I started driving it.

If years from now cars routinely reach 250+k on 5-20 oils I will change my license plate to 5W-20. However, for now I will stay with 10W-40 or 0-30 because I have good reason (past experience) to know it will get 250-300k out of my car.

As a matter of fact I am more worried abut my Honda Auto Transmission after 150-200k then the engine.

My cousin's husband has a 2002-ish Sable that has had 3k intervals on MC 5w-20 (bottled, from his mechanic) to a total of 110k. He is psycho about oil changes. I will check out his cleanliness, but there is not much else to check. He gets insane mpg, like 32. ORIGINAL ENGINE!!!!

The 5W-20 is just now advancing thru different automakers as factory oil. I would think it was hardly used until a few years ago. If anyone has even 200K with it, it would be a major feat of piled-on miles in a big-time hurry..

I used it in the 70's when Mobil 1 first came out. Got 175,000 miles on a 72 Ford LTD, but it wasn't spec'd for it.

100K?? Get real. 200-300K wil show if it does the job. Oh and I am going to trial Fuchs Titan GT1 0W20 in my Outback. This oil was released in Oz in 1999. The mandatory oil for the Porsche Carrera Cup Championship here so should do the job admirably IMO.

There are many thousands of police cars (Crown Vic PI) out there that have over 100k on them and have been running 5W20 in them. I'm sure many of these have had Motorcraft oil and filters during most of their lives, too.
