I'd like to ask for your advice on this.

I need a cheap oil for my VW 1.8Ts (VW 502, VW 505) and BMW M54 (BMW Longlife-01) engines.
- 1.8t #1 has 163k miles, driven soft now running 5w30
- 1.8t #2 has 112k miles, driven hard now running 0w40
- 2.5L M54 with 230k miles, driven soft now running 5w40

I came across this: https://www.fuchs.com/ro/en/product/product/129340-titan-supersyn-longlife-sae-5w-40/

Which would cost $6.67 per quart.

But I couldn't manage to find a full sheet for it. Fuchs.com emailed me the first file, without the Flash point, and the second file is off opieoils, a UK seller. Found a third pic with data on oilclub DE.
Does this look OK for my engines?

Fuchs make good oils, but they dont give the customers to much informations. Fuchs clearly aims mainly for bussines customers. Therefore, these oils are not so popular as the maybe deservere around gearheads and members of motoroil forums, however, these oils are good qualitiy. Use with confidence.

Totally agree, I've tried to find out what their 'XTL' technology is a handful of times and given up.

I will say their Sintofluid 75w80 is a smashing MTF.

They dont give informations about the Base Oils (Hydrocrack oder Fully synth) because customers maybe "Make wrong assumptions" or so. Go figure... I have E-mailed also with them and had the same expirience. They are helpfull up to a point where they tell you "Sorry, we dont give you Information about this deatil.. "

However, the oils are good qualitiy for sure and to my information, wich could be wrong, are often used as first fill from Manufactures.

Yeah, Audi fans here are saying Fuchs is the factory MTF for most Audis. I've put Sintofluid in a friend's car and Sintopoid in his rear diff, works like a charm. Got some for one of my cars, will check how it feels compared to the other one for which I used Audi oil.

I found more resources (use Google Translate): https://www.oil-club.ru/forum/topic/32418-fuchs-titan-supersyn-longlife-5w-40-svezhee/

There's even a guy with one of my engines that's been running this on the last page:

M54, total mileage 181k miles.

On Fuchs last 44k miles.

Change interval 6-7.5k miles.

Mode 80% highway 20% city.

The cam planes are ideally smooth.

Thanks for your input everyone, I'll order and update.

This oil is ok, but I personally would look for other stuff unless you getting crazy deal.
KV100 is 14.4. That reminds me of older generation XW40 oils that used HC base stocks. I bet HTHS is somewhere 3.7, which other oils get out of KV100 around 13.
For those engines I would go Castrol 0W40 or Mobil1 0W40.

Totally agree. The OP has no BMW that would require the latest iteration of Longlife-01. The two oils you mention are available at Walmart for just over $5 a quart or so and have several equivalent approvals.

Most people using it are specific German repair shops buying in drums. I can get it for about $32 per jug here in Canada, wholesale. A 55g drum is about a grand.
That is good price in Canada. But it is mediocre package to justify purchase even if it was $22, same price as Castrol or Mobil1 0W40

Thanks everyone for your input.

I'm in Europe so this Fuchs is the cheapest of the bunch. Castrol is a big no-no because of counterfeit stuff and I've read the new Mobil1 0W40 FS is not that good.

Sounds like there’s a lot of difficulty there.

Who said that? European Mobil1 0W-40 FS ist excellent as it's anywhere.
.
Not sure if it's a cost thing or objectively bad. It was the go-to oil before they discontinued the old 0w40 New Life, then everyone said they would switch.

Anyway, I got a jug of the 5w40 Fuchs and it worked great in a 1.8T, an M54 and a 2009 TFSI. Unfortunately the oil itself and shipping from Germany got too expensive, so we are now trying Rowe 0w40.

Thanks everyone for your inputs.
