I'd like to try that oil, but I need to know MUCH more (and probably much more than their techs are willing to divulge), about their add pack, and base oil contents.

It's also in reality more of a light 40wt with it's HTHSV in the 3.6-3.8cP range like M1 0W-40.
Their 0W-20 with a HTHSV in the 3.0-3.3cP range has a VI of "only" 178 so RL 0W-30 would still have an edge.

That would work for me during the summer, especially with that VI!

And you will get better gas mileage with the much higher VI synthetic oil (whether you can measure it or not) which will more than offset the price difference of the two oils.
In fact if the dino oil was free I believe you'd still be financially ahead going with 0W-30. All it would take is a 1.5% improvement in fuel economy, and I'm sure you'll get at least that.

Ya I know....and you win. I ordered another case today

I was under the impression that PC were really using severely refined dino type base oils.
Is the PC 0w-30 a full synthetic or just a Group III with ultra refining ?
Which exact grade are you talking about here?
