0w30 or 5w30

You can do an engine flush if you know that your car was well maintained. Most common burning oil is because of carbon build up on on the oil control rings and the holes get stuck with sludge due to the high heat in that area.
If it's not well maintained, or you don't know the history, the safer option is to actually just change oil more often. Maybe every 2.5k miles, drain and refill. Should help wash the crude out.
Higher viscosity doesn't help if the oil rings are blocked.

I'd toss a coin and run either ESP 0W30 or ESP 5W30. I would also try changing the PCV valve, and only use an OE replacement.

Any brand better in the 5w30 department? Still want to use full synthetic. I’m thinking either QS, Pennzoil or Castrol
Like I mentioned, the new QS FS 10W30 is good. Even run it in the snow blower NP cold rope starts and warmup at -15degC.
Castrol Edge black bottle has been the worst oil I have ever run and I've tried a few times including just recently with a UOA.
10W not 5W. Just as a point of "mind ease", the pour point is lower than -50C. - Ken
