0w20,30,40?

Been reading a lot on HTHS lately and seeing posts on oils like
Red Line 0w20. According to the posts, this oil does not use VII's and is very shear stable and won't thin out.

Is this exclusive to the Red Line 0w20 or does all 0w20, 0w30 and 0w40 share this same benefit?

Reason for wondering is my car specs a 5w20, and am wondering if the 0w20 is a better oil due to whatever.

Is it under warrant still?
If not, what oil change interval will you use?
Is it direct injected?
Reason I ask is because Red Line 0W-20 is expensive and possibly overkill, depending on those answers.

The answer to your one question is that it is not true that all 0W-20/30/40 oils use no polymeric viscosity index improvers.

Not planning to run RL, just wondering if all 0w20 oils were like RL.

Running RP 5w20 and they now offer a 0w20, but more curious than anything.

No, all 0w oils are not necessarily shear resistant and they certainly could use a lot of viscosity index improvers and low quality base stocks to hit that grade.

That being said at this point in time it's probably a generalization that would be true, since 0w-20 oils still aren't quite mainstream and only top shelf brands carry that weight.

Red line oils are the real deal. Too rich for my blood, though, since I drive some fairly mainstream cars and enjoy a little time in the garage. If I really wanted to spend 10 bucks a quart on a 20 weight oil it would be eneos sustina. Toyota 0w-20 is a good substitute for that at about 7 bucks a quart. But then Mobil 1 0w-20 is good enough for me at ~4.50 a quart. When will sopus have a 0-20 on the shelf???

Castrol Edge 0w-20 easy to find in Walmart. also Valvoline 0w-20 easy to get. Colorado anyway.
